GLOBAL AI LAW & GOVERNANCE INSTITUTE (GAILGI)

The Global AI Law & Governance Institute (GALGI) served as an international centre of excellence dedicated to advancing research, policy development, and capacity building in the field of Artificial Intelligence law, regulation, and governance. Established to address the profound legal, ethical, and societal challenges arising from the rapid proliferation of AI technologies, GALGI functioned as a multidisciplinary platform that brought together jurists, policymakers, technologists, academicians, industry leaders, and civil society stakeholders to shape a cohesive and forward-looking AI governance ecosystem.

The Institute’s mission during the Summit was to critically analyse and develop legal frameworks that respond to the unique risks and opportunities posed by Artificial Intelligence across jurisdictions. GALGI focused on tracking and studying the evolving AI law jurisprudence, examining legislative and regulatory trends globally, and providing strategic insights into how diverse legal systems were approaching AI regulation, liability, algorithmic accountability, explainability requirements, data governance, and human oversight obligations.

GALGI also explored the ethical dimensions of AI, including fairness, transparency, non-discrimination, and the protection of fundamental rights in automated decision-making systems. It sought to integrate these ethical considerations within legal and policy frameworks to ensure that AI deployment remained human-centric, inclusive, and aligned with constitutional and international human rights standards.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LAW HUB

The Artificial Intelligence Law Hub played a pivotal role as a pioneering platform dedicated to fostering deeper understanding, critical analysis, and informed dialogue on the complex and rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence Law. Conceived as a specialised initiative, the Hub served as an interdisciplinary nexus where legal scholarship, policy development, technological innovation, and ethical considerations intersected to address the unprecedented challenges and opportunities posed by Artificial Intelligence.

The Hub’s primary objective during the Summit was to systematically track, study, and examine the emerging legal and regulatory frameworks governing AI at both national and international levels. It monitored the progression of AI law jurisprudence, analysed landmark judgments, legislative trends, and regulatory proposals, and contextualised these developments within broader societal and ethical debates.

Recognising that AI has far-reaching implications beyond traditional regulatory paradigms, the Hub delved into evolving societal norms and ethical dimensions that influenced how AI should be governed. It critically examined questions of algorithmic accountability, bias and discrimination, transparency, explainability, data privacy, and human oversight, and explored how these aspects could be effectively incorporated into legal frameworks that safeguard fundamental rights and public interest while encouraging responsible innovation.
